A regular audit of food hygiene practices, procedures and documentation will let you know that everything is happening as it should do. This is particularly important for owners who are not based on the site or businesses where staff change regularly.
Our food businesses have asked for audits from once a month to once a year with every 3 months being the most common.
We will look at the same elements that an Environmental Health Officer or Food Standards Agency inspector would look at. For EHO inspected businesses we will also use the same criteria as they do to provide a hygiene or ‘scores on the door’ rating.
